Data Viz: Excel or Tableau

Data Viz: Excel or Tableau

Do you like data? Do you like good looking graphs? Do you like presenting information in eye-catching ways? If you answered yes to any of those, you might be interested in learning more about data visualization. In this hands-on workshop, Research and Data Services Librarian Will Dean will show you how to take a humble dataset and present it in a variety of colorful, informative, and interactive visualizations. We will explore the features of the software programs Tableau (register for a free student or teacher account) and Excel. Participants are encouraged to bring a dataset they are working on or ideas for visualization projects.

Participants can join this session one of three ways:

  • Attend in person at Ginsburg Library, or
  • Attend online via Zoom, or
  • View the recording on their own time (all registrants will receive an email with the video link after this session)

This workshop will be offered in a hybrid format. You must register for this workshop. You will receive a registration confirmation email, which includes the Zoom link for the workshop.
