Data Viz: Tableau and Excel

Data Viz: Tableau and Excel

This event is part of Love Data Week 2025, for more information see https://guides.temple.edu/lovedataweek.

Do you like data? Do you like good looking graphs? Do you like presenting information in eye-catching ways? If you answered yes to any of those, you might be interested in learning more about data visualization. In this hands-on workshop, Research and Data Services Librarian Will Dean will show you how to take a humble dataset and present it in a variety of colorful, informative, and interactive visualizations. We will explore the features of the software programs Tableau (register for a free student or teacher account: https://www.tableau.com/community/academic) and Excel. Participants are encouraged to bring a dataset they are working on or ideas for visualization projects.

This workshop will be offered as a hybrid session in person or via Zoom. To participate online, you must register for this workshop to receive the Zoom link via a confirmation email. On the day of the workshop, use the link to join the session.

The in-person location is the Moskow Computer Center (Room 414) in the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (148 N. 8th St.).

This workshop will be recorded. Register to attend the live session or to receive a copy of the recording.
