Search Like a Librarian: Evidence Synthesis

This session will focus on advanced search techniques for evidence synthesis projects such as systematic, scoping, and rapid reviews. Search tactics for reproducibility will be detailed such as tagging terms, controlled vocabulary, proximity searching, and validated search hedges for filtering. Overall review methodology will not be a focal point [register for the Introduction to Systematic Reviews workshop to learn the basics] but will be discussed in regards to reporting search results. Librarians will showcase how to document a search and report search results according to PRISMA guidelines. This session is for those that want an understanding of expert level searching in evidence synthesis, theses, dissertations, or other non-published projects. Attendees will learn how to construct comprehensive, exhaustive, and reproducible searches. Search basics will not be covered in this session.

This workshop will not be recorded, but a copy of the slides will be emailed after the workshop concludes.
