Introduction to QGIS: Getting Started with Geographic Information Systems

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to QGIS, a powerful open-source mapping and spatial analysis platform. You will learn to navigate the QGIS interface, load and visualize geographic data, perform basic spatial operations, and create publication-ready maps. No prior GIS experience required. Participants will work with real datasets to explore fundamental concepts like coordinate systems, layer management, and symbology. By the end of the session, attendees will have the foundational skills needed to begin incorporating spatial analysis into their research and coursework across disciplines. Requirements: QGIS pre-installed (installation instructions provided upon registration).

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop to receive the Zoom link via a confirmation email. On the day of the workshop, use the link to join the session.
