Intro to 3D Scanning: Creating 3D Models of Physical Space with a 360° Camera

In this introductory workshop, attendees will learn the fundamentals of 3D scanning by generating point clouds from videos captured with a 360° camera.

We’ll demonstrate the basic workflows for processing point clouds, including capturing real-world spaces with an Insta360 camera, generating image sequences, importing and aligning the images, and producing point clouds suitable for digital art, VR/AR, or more. No prior experience with 3D scanning is required.
