Cutting Costs, Not Content: A Faculty Conversation on Textbook Affordability

Join us for a faculty panel on textbook affordability during Temple Libraries’ celebration of Open Education Week, featuring instructors who have successfully reduced or eliminated textbook costs in their courses with the help of the Libraries’ Textbook Affordability Project grant. Faculty panelists will discuss their experiences adopting open educational resources (OER), incorporating library-licensed materials, and redesigning assignments to minimize expenses for students. Attendees will hear real-world examples, learn about available campus support, and have time for Q&A to explore how they can make their own courses more affordable.

Hear from our panelists:

Erica D. Henn, Assistant Professor of Instruction, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Barnett College of Public Health

José Pablo Barragán Nieto, Assistant Professor of Instruction and Director of Undergraduate Studies of Spanish and Portuguese, College of Liberal Arts
