Map Making with Microsoft Excel Map Charts and 3D Maps
This workshop will be in two parts: the first half hour provides basic concepts needed for map making, and the second half hour demonstrates two examples of map making with Microsoft Excel map charts and 3D maps. Excel Map Chart is one of the chart elements that corresponds to rows of data in the data range and Microsoft 3D Maps for Excel is a three-dimensional (3D) data visualization tool embedded in Excel.
Temple University offers free access to Microsoft 365 for current students, faculty, and staff. Please install Microsoft Excel before attending this workshop.
All are welcome at this workshop. No prior GIS experience is required. People with GIS backgrounds can come just for the second part for a lighter approach to visualize spatial-temporal data compared to professional GIS software like ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop to receive the link via a confirmation email. On the day of the workshop, use that link to join the session.
