Mapping Data with Social Explorer and PolicyMap

Mapping Data with Social Explorer and PolicyMap

Learn how to visualize social data with two of the Libraries' powerful data and mapping subscriptions: Social Explorer and PolicyMap. Social Explorer allows users to create data maps and perform location analysis on census, electoral, crime, and many more types of U.S. demographic data, as well as selected international indicators. PolicyMap offers easy-to-use online mapping with U.S. data from multiple governmental and non-governmental sources on demographics, housing, health, jobs, and much more. Participants will learn how to these tools to map data of interest and save visualizations for use in their own research and teaching.

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop to receive the Zoom link via a confirmation email. On the day of the workshop, use the link to join the session. Participants do not need a video camera or a microphone, but will need an audio connection to hear the instructor.
