Transform Your Information Literacy Assignments with Open Educational Practices
How can we help improve students’ information literacy so that they better understand information ecosystems as well as how knowledge is produced, disseminated, and valued?
In this workshop aimed at faculty and teaching graduate students, we will provide an introduction to open educational practices and how they connect with the information literacy concepts you want to teach. Open educational practices center students as knowledge creators by employing social and participatory technologies for interaction, peer-learning, knowledge creation and sharing.
Gain ideas and strategies for moving beyond traditional research paper assignments to more renewable assignments where students are actively engaging in knowledge creation.
This workshop is offered as part of Open Education Week 2022.
